Oppo Reno 14 5G Unveiled in Japan with Dimensity 8350, Triple Cameras & Rugged Design

Oppo has officially introduced the Reno 14 5G to the Japanese market, bringing with it a sleek design, flagship-level performance, and robust durability features. The smartphone is set to go on sale from July 17, offered in two eye-catching shades—Luminous Green and Opal White.

Display & Build Quality

The Reno 14 5G features a stunning 6.6-inch AMOLED display with a sharp 1.5K resolution (2760 × 1256), supporting a 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of up to 1200 nits. Protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i, the phone is built to endure daily wear and tear. What truly sets it apart is its IP68 and IP69 certification, making it both dust-tight and highly water-resistant.

Impressive Triple Rear Camera Setup

Photography enthusiasts will appreciate the powerful triple-camera setup on the back:

  • 50MP Sony LYT-600 primary sensor with OIS,
  • 8MP ultra-wide lens, and
  • 50MP telephoto lens with 3.5x optical zoom and OIS.

On the front, the Reno 14 5G sports a 50MP autofocus selfie camera, capable of recording crisp 4K videos at 60fps, ideal for content creators and vloggers.

Hardware, Performance & Software

At the core of the Reno 14 5G is the MediaTek Dimensity 8350 processor, paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage for smooth multitasking and fast data access. To handle heat, it features a large vapor chamber cooling system measuring roughly 4700 mm².

It runs on Android 15 with ColorOS 15, delivering a refined and fluid user experience.

Battery & Connectivity

One of the highlights is its massive 6000mAh battery, which supports 80W SuperVOOC fast charging via a wired connection. Though it skips wireless charging, the massive battery ensures day-long usage without a hiccup.

Additional features include:

  • Dual SIM + eSIM support,
  • Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC,
  • Stereo speakers for immersive audio,
  • In-display fingerprint scanner for secure access.

Global & Indian Launch Update

While the Reno 14 series made its debut in China earlier this year, its global rollout begins from July 1, with Malaysia and other regions next in line. Though Japan only gets the base Reno 14 variant, markets like India are expected to receive both the Reno 14 and Reno 14 Pro models, possibly within the first week of July.

Final Take:
Oppo’s Reno 14 5G packs a compelling mix of durability, design, and photography features. With its powerful Dimensity chipset, large battery, and flagship-level camera setup, it looks poised to be a strong contender in the mid-premium 5G smartphone segment.
