OnePlus Plans New Gaming Smartphone Series with Pro-Level Features and Exclusive Design

OnePlus seems to be setting its sights on the mobile gaming community with an all-new smartphone lineup designed from the ground up for serious gamers. As per a recent leak by known tipster @heyitsyogesh on X (formerly Twitter), the brand is currently developing a dedicated gaming-centric smartphone series, packed with top-tier specs and hardware customizations for an immersive gameplay experience.

This new gaming series is expected to stand apart from OnePlus’s current portfolio, including the high-performance Ace series, by introducing features like mechanical shoulder triggers, advanced thermal management, and enhanced vibration feedback tailored for gaming. These additions could put OnePlus in direct competition with established gaming phones like the Nubia RedMagic 10 Pro and ASUS ROG Phone 9 Pro.

According to early leaks, the devices in this new lineup will likely be powered by the latest flagship chipsets from Qualcomm or MediaTek, paired with high-capacity batteries for prolonged gaming sessions. Display-wise, OnePlus might equip them with 144Hz+ AMOLED panels, promising ultra-smooth gameplay and minimal latency.

OnePlus is also said to be testing custom cooling systems—potentially with vapor chambers or active cooling fans—to manage heat during extended gaming. The phones are expected to ship with OxygenOS 16, which could bring exclusive gaming modes, UI customization, and performance optimization tools aimed at gamers.

Currently, the project remains in the research and development phase. Initial rollout is expected to be limited to the Chinese market, consistent with OnePlus’s strategy of first testing new product lines domestically, as it did with the Ace series.

Pricing details and official model names haven’t surfaced yet. However, the positioning is expected to be above the Nord series, targeting power users and competitive mobile gamers. If reception in China is strong, a global debut may follow.

In a market where mobile gaming continues to grow rapidly, OnePlus entering the arena with a dedicated series could shake things up—and bring fresh competition to long-time gaming phone leaders.
