Honor Magic V5 Set to Debut as the World’s Thinnest Foldable with Monster Battery and 200MP Zoom Camera

Honor is ready to shake up the foldable smartphone market once again, and this time it’s going thinner, lighter, and more powerful than ever before. Leaked promotional material from China suggests that the upcoming Honor Magic V5 will break new ground with an ultra-slim 8.8mm profile when folded, making it the slimmest foldable phone in the world to date.

This would edge out the current record holder, the Oppo Find N5, which measures 8.9mm folded. While details on the unfolded thickness remain under wraps, it’s expected that the Magic V5 will also impress with a sleek and compact design when open.

Slim Design, Big Power

Despite its slender frame, the Magic V5 isn’t compromising on power. The device is rumored to pack a massive 6,100mAh battery, a standout feature for foldables, which often sacrifice battery capacity for size. It will reportedly support 66W fast wired charging and could retain support for 50W wireless charging, placing it on par with or even ahead of many flagship smartphones in charging performance.

In terms of weight, the phone is expected to stay under 219 grams, putting it in the same lightweight league as the Vivo X Fold 5 — an impressive feat given the battery and hardware packed inside.

Photography Gets a Major Upgrade

What’s particularly exciting about the Magic V5 is its camera setup. According to the leaked poster, the phone will feature:

  • A 50MP main camera
  • An ultra-wide lens
  • A show-stopping 200MP periscope telephoto sensor, an extremely rare spec in foldables

This powerful trio signals Honor’s ambition to deliver top-tier photography within a foldable form factor, offering users professional-grade zoom and clarity that rival traditional camera phones.

A Foldable Flagship to Watch

Set to launch on July 2 in China, the Honor Magic V5 arrives at a time when major players like Samsung and Vivo are also preparing new foldables. But with its ultra-thin profile, robust battery, and industry-first 200MP periscope camera, the Magic V5 could easily steal the spotlight.
